Head, Pancreas Section (Surgical Oncologist)

Summary

Certified by the American Board of Surgery with a special certification of fellowship training in complex general surgical oncology. Focuses on the surgical management of malignant neoplasms (cancer). Practices medicine within the scope of authority and privileges granted by Moffitt Cancer Center. As a member of the Moffitt Medical Group, provides patient care and serves as a member of the academic medical enterprise. Spanning the clinical and research enterprise in support of patient care, research, and education, advances the Institutional mission of contributing to the prevention and cure of cancer.

Responsibilities

The Department of Gastrointestinal Surgical Oncology & Gastroenterology at Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a Board‑certified/eligible Surgical Oncology faculty member to join our practice at the Associate or Senior Member level. The candidate will lead and expand a robust practice focused on pancreatic cancer and premalignant lesions. This role includes a leadership position as Head of the Pancreas Section, working with an existing team of well‑established HPB‑Pancreas surgical oncologists within multidisciplinary teams, and supporting an existing and mature research program in pancreatic malignancies. The position will have a clinic at the Magnolia campus, with opportunity to develop and establish pancreatic practices at Moffitt satellite sites, and with surgical cases centered at Moffitt McKinley Hospital.

Qualifications

• MD/DO or equivalent
• Florida license eligible
• Board certified/eligible in General Surgery
• Completed Fellowship training in Complex General Surgical Oncology, with specific expertise in Pancreas and Robotic Surgery
• ACLS as required by privileges granted through Medical Staff
• DEA License

Salary Range

$416,478.40 - $516,606.27
