Head of People (Fully Remote)

• Substack is looking for a Head of People to build and scale our People function at a pivotal stage of growth.
• You’ll own the strategy, systems, and programs that shape how we hire, develop, reward, and support our team.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and scale the People function across recruiting, onboarding, compensation, benefits, employee experience, performance management, and talent development.
• Build and run training, learning and development, and leadership coaching programs.
• Advise leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, succession planning, and employee relations.

Who You Are:

• You have 8+ years of progressive People or HR experience with leadership across benefits, compensation, leveling, and reviews.
• You're a self-starter who sets the pace, is resourceful, and can both get hands-on and delegate.
• Startup or growth-stage experience is required; strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making are essential.

Compensation:

• The cash compensation salary range is $250,000 to $295,000.
• Substack's package includes equity for all full-time roles and exceptional benefits.
