Head of Northeast Transportation

We are working with a growing engineering services business that is looking for a Head of Transportation to spearhead the growth of its Transportation business across the Northeast.

The role sits within a $2B global business unit , giving you the backing and resources of a large international organisation while still having significant autonomy to build and grow the Transportation business in the Northeast.

This is a build-and-grow opportunity rather than simply managing an established team. You'll have the opportunity to effectively build a new Business Unit, taking responsibility for winning new work, developing client relationships, growing the team and overseeing project delivery.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the growth of the Transportation business across the Northeast
• Developing and executing a strategy to win new transportation projects
• Building and maintaining relationships with key clients, transportation authorities and government agencies
• Identifying new business opportunities and leading pursuits from initial opportunity through to award
• Growing and developing a high-performing Transportation team
• Recruiting and building the technical and delivery capabilities required to support growth
• Overseeing project delivery and ensuring high standards of technical and commercial performance
• Taking responsibility for the development and growth of the Business Unit
• Working closely with senior leadership to shape the future direction of the Transportation business

What We’re Looking For

• Professional Engineer (PE) licence is essential
• Extensive experience within transportation engineering/infrastructure
• Experience working with state Departments of Transportation (DOTs) , transportation authorities, government agencies or similar public-sector clients
• A strong track record of winning and delivering transportation projects
• Experience in any area of transportation will be considered, including roads/highways, bridges, rail, transit, traffic/transportation planning or related disciplines
• Strong commercial and business development experience
• Experience growing teams and developing new business areas
• Strong understanding of the Northeast transportation market and its key clients
• Comfortable operating in a high-autonomy environment where you will have significant influence over the direction of the business
