Head of Engineering

Responsibilities

• Help define the architecture and technical direction of the Poesis platform
• Design and build scalable systems for financial data ingestion, processing, storage, and access
• Build the infrastructure that supports research, model development, real‑time multiagent inference, and production decision‑making
• Design point‑in‑time data architectures that ensure reproducibility, historical accuracy, and research integrity
• Define platform standards for data architecture, APIs, reliability, reproducibility, and explainability
• Partner closely with researchers, quantitative developers, and leadership to translate research into production
• Define and evolve engineering processes that allow the team to ship quickly, reliably, and predictably
• Recruit, develop, and manage a high‑performing engineering team

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• 2+ years building products or platforms at a frontier AI lab, agentic startup, leading hedge fund, big tech company, or similar
• 2+ years of leadership and/or management experience
• Strong systems design skills architecting distributed, data‑intensive, and event‑driven platforms
• Proficiency in Python and SQL, with bonus for TypeScript, Go, or Rust
• Success designing and operating modern AI and agentic systems, including LLMs, orchestration, evaluation, and ML infrastructure
• Basic understanding of financial markets and a personal or professional interest in investing
• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience
