About Corgi

Corgi is a full-stack insurance carrier building better, faster insurance products from the ground up. We are not just a broker: we design, underwrite, price, and issue insurance products directly across a growing platform that includes admitted carriers, risk retention groups, captives, and reinsurance entities.

Insurance remains one of the largest and least automated sectors of financial services. Corgi is rebuilding it using technology, AI, and a vertically integrated operating model.

About the Role

We are looking for a senior claims executive to lead Corgi's claims organization. You will own overall management of the claims department, including claims professionals and support staff working from our offices and in remote locations across the country.

This is a leadership role with real authority and real accountability. You will set the vision, strategy, and standards for how Corgi handles claims across multiple commercial lines, build and develop the team, and be directly responsible for the quality and consistency of reserving, resolution strategies, and outcomes. You will work closely with underwriting, legal, product, and the senior leadership team, and your decisions will shape both claim results and how Corgi designs and prices its products.

What You'll Do

  • Own overall management of the claims department, including claims professionals and support staff located in our offices and in remote locations across the country.

  • Take responsibility for the performance, development, and coaching of all claims staff.

  • Provide vision, goals, and direction, and share accountability for claims support staff located both inside and outside the division.

  • Provide input and actively participate in divisional meetings and training sessions.

  • Partner with underwriting teams to provide insights regarding claims trends and developments.

  • Offer support and counsel in connection with new business opportunities.

  • Provide tactical leadership and strategic direction to the department.

  • Monitor and analyze data to ensure consistency in quality of reserving, strategies, and outcomes.

  • Ensure that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations, and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.

  • Nurture and enhance a unique claims culture, maintaining high levels of employee engagement and a high level of customer service.

  • Provide advice on the resolution of claims files to determine authority over settlements and reserves within prescribed limits, including oversight and strategy for large claims and overall litigation management. Submit recommendations to senior leadership on cases exceeding personal authority.

  • Provide vision, goals, and direction for claims process and outcome improvement initiatives through utilization of technology, AI, vendor services, and innovative strategies.

  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to help make sure the company meets budget and performance targets.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Who You Are

  • You hold a bachelor's degree (required).

  • You have 10+ years of leadership experience with significant experience in management of casualty and property claims, including experience with strategic planning and employee development.

  • You have previous experience working with multi-line claims, with particular focus in Liability, Property, and Workers' Compensation.

  • You bring significant casualty expertise (required).

  • You are results oriented and customer service focused.

  • You have strong analytical and communication skills with the proven ability to partner with individuals at all levels.

  • You can clearly articulate vision and objectives.

  • You maintain insurance industry awareness and involvement.

  • You are able to travel up to 10% of the time.

Why Corgi

Real Ownership: You will not inherit a legacy claims bureaucracy. You will lead, shape, and scale Corgi's claims organization, with direct authority over how claims are handled and resolved.

Broad, Substantive Work: You will work across insurance products, jurisdictions, entities, and claims structures, partnering directly with underwriting, legal, product, and executive leadership.

Immediate Impact: Your decisions will directly affect claim outcomes, loss ratios, customer experience, product design, and how Corgi manages legal and regulatory risk.

Ground-Floor Opportunity: Corgi is building its insurance platform and claims function at the same time. You will have the opportunity to create the systems, standards, and culture that will scale with the company.

High Standards and High Growth: We move quickly, expect excellent work, and give meaningful responsibility to people who deliver. Strong performers will have substantial room to expand their scope as Corgi grows.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Base salary of $150,000–$250,000, depending on experience, qualifications, work location, and demonstrated claims leadership expertise.

  • Equity options.

  • Performance-based compensation opportunities, as applicable.

The compensation range stated above is a good-faith estimate for this position. Actual compensation will depend on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, and internal compensation considerations.

Corgi Insurance is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any status protected by applicable federal, state, or local law.
