This is a global business with customers and consumers located all around the world. The leader will have a GM mindset and be a product leader.
Responsibilities
- Within Dolby, primary responsibility for products and revenue from the Automotive space. Set the vision for the business, craft and execute the strategy, and communicate it across the organization.
- Act with the mindset of a general manager in a functionally organized company. Collaborate with content ecosystem teams, engineering, research, marketing, sales, customer support, finance, and legal to deliver value and grow the Dolby business.
- Scale the business in terms of revenue and product scope. Develop a segmented market view with clearly defined value propositions for customer and consumer segments.
- Identify new market opportunities and define products. Create a well-defined long-term product roadmap with value propositions for each product line and version.
- Develop Go-to-Market strategies for the Automotive business, identifying the right sequencing of activities and helping the organization execute the GTM plan.
- Prioritize product and business initiatives within the resource envelope to drive growth.
Requirements
- Deep knowledge of the infotainment segment within the automotive industry, with multiple years of experience in the automotive space likely.
- Technical expertise equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in engineering or science.
- Knowledge of the automotive industry, vehicle manufacturing, segmentation, positioning, and sales. Understanding of value and supply chains, feature packaging across trims and models, and regional commercial strategies.
- Product DNA with a track record of delivering value to the market through products.
- Ability to handle complexity and simplify it for others while building value ecosystems with multiple constituents.
- Sets and enforces enterprise-level standards for confidential data handling in compliance with GDPR and internal governance, fostering accountability and trust.
- Willingness to travel.

Location
- Role can be in the Munich / Nuremberg region or in our headquarters in San Francisco.
- Leader is expected to work from San Francisco or Nuremberg 2-3 days per week, with in-person collaboration to support learning and impact.
Salary: The San Francisco/Bay Area base salary range for this full-time position is 259,000 - 408,500, plus bonus, benefits and equity. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location; individual pay depends on location, skills, experience, market demands, internal parity, and training.
