The Head Nurse of Ambulatory Care Services oversees the nursing regimen for patients within the Ophthalmology unit, ensuring high-quality care through effective leadership and collaboration with healthcare teams.

What You'll Do
- Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing regimen for patients.
- Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients.
- Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients.
- Interpret and report responses of patients to appropriate health team members.
- Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care.
- Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
- Participate in defining, implementing, and maintaining nursing practice standards.
- Conduct conferences to develop nursing care plans and promote staff development.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.
Requirements
**Experience:**
- Experience as a Head Nurse preferred.
**Licenses & Certifications:**
- Current New York State RN License required.
Additional Compensation
- Annual education differential based on degree:
- Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
- Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
- Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
- Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.
- Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $1,042 up to $8,645 for up to 10 years of experience.
