HDCH Non‑Tenure Track Faculty (Applicant Pool)

Montana State University seeks qualified individuals to provide non‑tenurable level instruction and/or related functions in the Department of Human Development & Community Health. The position involves teaching variable content courses on a part‑time basis, with appointments ranging from a few weeks to a full semester or academic year, depending on departmental needs.

Salary is commensurate with experience, education, and the number and duration of courses taught. The position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Position may be a union position; Union affiliation is determined by job duties and the collective bargaining unit.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Teach on‑campus or online courses.
  • Advising, evaluating, and supporting students.
  • Participate in the academic mission and student success initiatives of Montana State University.

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Master’s degree or terminal degree in an appropriate field with an academic background commensurate with teaching one or more of the specialty areas listed.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Academic or professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of college student development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff enrichment.

Successful Candidate Will

  • Possess effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Contribute positively to the academic success of students and the mission of Montana State University.
