Hardware Technician (Data Collection)Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets.

Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA.We're seeking a Hardware Technician to manage and maintain our data collection hardware systems, including VR/AR headsets, laptops. This role is critical to ensuring our data collection operations run smoothly and our data collection Pilot team have the hardware support they need.You'll be the go-to person for hardware setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance across our data operation infrastructure.Responsibilities:Set up, configure, and maintain VR/AR headsets and related equipmentInstall, image, and configure laptops and workstations for the Pilot teamTroubleshoot hardware and network connectivity, performance, and calibration issuesPerform routine maintenance and calibration on data collection systemsConfigure and manage network infrastructure, including switches, access points, and routersDiagnose and resolve network issues including packet loss, bandwidth degradation, and intermittent drops that affect collection sessionsCreate and maintain documentation, setup guides, and troubleshooting proceduresRequirements:2+ years of experience in hardware support, IT technician, or similar technical roleHands-on experience with VR/AR headset setup and maintenanceStrong troubleshooting skills for hardware, connectivity, and system configuration issuesExperience with laptop/PC imaging, configuration, and deploymentFamiliarity with basic electronics, cable management, and equipment calibrationBasic networking knowledge and setup experience (Wi-Fi configuration, IP addressing, router provisioning, troubleshooting connectivity issues)Excellent documentation and communication skillsAbility to lift equipment up to 30 lbs and work in a lab environmentDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsBonus Qualifications:Experience in robotics, manufacturing, or automation environmentsFamiliarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) or robotics platformsBackground in motion capture or VR/AR gaming systemsBasic scripting skills (Python, Bash)Associate degree or certification in electronics, IT, or related fieldThe US base salary range for this full-time position is between $85,000 - $110,000 annually.The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role.
