Senior Hardware Engineering Manager – DC/Power Instrumentation
Background
We are seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager to lead the strategy, development, and delivery of next-generation DC and power instrumentation products. This individual will drive product direction, oversee cross-functional engineering teams, and manage product execution from concept through production release. The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of technical leadership, hardware development expertise, and product ownership experience within complex instrumentation or electronic hardware environments.
Responsibilities
- Define and drive product strategy, roadmap, and execution for DC/power instrumentation products.
- Lead cross-functional teams including hardware, software, firmware, FPGA, mechanical, and test engineering.
- Oversee product development from concept through manufacturing release, ensuring alignment with business objectives, customer requirements, and technical goals.
- Manage multiple concurrent development programs, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and risk management.
- Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and translate market needs into product direction.
- Drive engineering excellence through design reviews, verification, validation, and release processes.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate program status, priorities, and strategic direction to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Manage technical relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external development partners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE required; MSEE preferred).
- 10+ years of hardware design and development experience, including board-level (PCB) products.
- 5+ years of engineering leadership, product leadership, or technical management experience.
- Proven track record delivering complex hardware products from concept through manufacturing release.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering teams in fast-paced product development environments.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while balancing technical, schedule, and business objectives.
- Strong customer-facing experience translating requirements into product solutions.
- Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and contract engineering partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DC instrumentation, power electronics, precision measurement systems, semiconductor test equipment, or related instrumentation products.
- Experience developing high-performance mixed-signal, analog, or power hardware systems.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, systems engineering, and manufacturing processes.
