Hardware EngineerLocation: San Jose, CA (Onsite day 1)Duration: 6-12+ MonthsJob Description:What They Need To Have:• BS (or higher degree) Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Equivalent• 3+ years experience with robotics hardware development process and system development across full product life cycles• 3+ years experience in robotics device designs consisting of SoC, computer architecture, component selections, and sensor suites.• 3+ years experience in developing functional specifications• 3+ years experience in hardware and software integration• 3+ experience with robotics device system software (Linux/Unix/RTOS based), C/C++ and ROS.What They Will Do:• Design and develop world-class hardware, firmware and device system software for wheeled robotics devices• Perform architecture feasibility analysis, including profiling, benchmarking and prototyping new features on available silicon platforms.• Perform all aspects of technology readiness including manufacturability• Develop and review functional specifications for the hardware• Drive key design decisions such as device architecture selection (Ex: MCU vs SoC), compute architecture (CPU, DSP, GPU and ML accelerators), component selection (chipsets, memory, storage), sensor suite (Lidar, ToF, Cameras, Wheel Encoders)• Document the decisions in a system architecture specification document that will provide relevant design guidance for the engineering team.
