nThe Work
nThe hired engineer will be a Hardware Engineering on a development team that delivers a FAA Level D Full Flight Simulator for our customer. Primary responsibilities include:

Complete hardware design and development activities for power and control systems, motion platform integration, visual display systems, avionics interfaces, and ancillary equipment.

Manage end to end integration of the new simulator hardware with the existing building infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical distribution, grounding, and fire and smoke monitoring systems.
n n - n
Lead other Hardware Engineers that synchronizes engineering, procurement, production planning, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure design is completed as scheduled. Develop innovative solutions to a range of complex problems that are consistent with the program objectives.

Basic Qualifications (BQs):
nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or related field
nExperience in developing flight simulation hardware solutions.
nActive development of new mechanical design engineering principles and full demonstrated knowledge of industry practices and related disciplines
nIssuing formal design checking approvals or non-conformance reports through the PLM tool.
nDeveloping and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
nDeveloping and generating HW architectural layouts for system and lower level interfaces between systems and subsystems
nDeriving Hardware and sub tier requirements from customer requirements
nBuilding BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation
nDemonstrated ability to support cross-functional teams through major technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)
nExperience applying Hardware Engineering processes in an Agile environment.
nDesired Skills:
nExperience with Windchill, Creo, Windchill and/or Catia, Zuken and Cameo.
nKnowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and demonstrated perform complex system-level tolerance analysis.
nKnowledge of generating hardware architecture, high level interconnects, and deriving requirements from customer and system level flow downs.
nPrior experience in the development, integration, and deployment of flight training systems.
nLeveraged Agile tenets in the execution of the development of software intensive systems, inclusive of driving development of Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Hardware, and Test Engineering work products.
nExperience adapting hardware designs to existing climate control systems, ensuring temperature/humidity stability for avionics and motion platforms.
nExperience interfacing with the facility's existing fire detection and suppression infrastructure
nProduct design experience in the context of modular open systems architectures (e.g. SOA).
nExperience with Rotary and/or Fixed Wing Aircraft
nExperience with full motion simulators.
