Role Description

As a Hardware Engineer focused on EE Design, you will help build the foundation of Rivet’s ruggedized device platforms. Your work will span embedded system design, PCB layout, and sensor integration, with an emphasis on building compact, reliable, and production‑ready hardware. You’ll collaborate closely with systems, RF, and software teams to ensure seamless integration across all layers of the stack.

Role Objectives

The objective of this role is to design and validate electrical subsystems that combine performance, reliability, and manufacturability. You will own EE deliverables from schematic capture to hardware bring‑up, ensuring Rivet devices can withstand real‑world operational demands while scaling into mass production.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals with expertise in one or more areas: system integration and validation, power electronics, embedded device communication (GPIO, I2C, UART, SPI, USB), analog design, signal and power integrity, or sensor integration.
  • Hands‑on experience with hardware bring‑up, validation, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and electronic loads.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and constraint‑driven PCB layout using Cadence or equivalent tools.
  • 1–3+ years of experience designing hardware for mass‑produced products with form factor and integration constraints.
  • Proven ability to drive hardware design efforts in a technical lead capacity.
  • Experience integrating sensors or noise‑sensitive circuitry into designs.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to manage projects independently.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges.
  • Must be a U.S. Person (citizen or permanent resident).

Compensation may vary within the posted range based on relevant experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for equity and other forms of compensation. Eligible employees also receive a competitive benefits package, including unlimited PTO.
