Hardware Development Engineer

As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will join a collaborative engineering team developing advanced industrial automation and control systems. This role offers hands-on involvement across the full hardware development lifecycle—from circuit design and integration to testing, analysis, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities
  • Collaborate within an agile team to design and develop industrial automation products, including system architecture and hardware verification
  • Program, analyse, and troubleshoot electronic hardware prototypes
  • Prepare and maintain product design documentation and test reports
  • Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Work with technical peers to implement hardware test automation and design simulation solutions
  • Partner across engineering and product teams to support the full product development lifecycle
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practices
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in cross-functional hardware product development
  • Experience using design capture tools with the ability to read and interpret schematics
  • Strong understanding of circuit theory and operation, with experience in at least one of the following:
    • Microprocessors
    • Digital logic devices
    • Analogue and/or DC power conversion
    • Programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
    • Ethernet, wireless, or analogue design
  • Hands-on experience with hardware test equipment such as debuggers, precision oscilloscopes, and logic analysers
  • Familiarity with electronics compliance standards such as functional safety (e.g. IEC 61508) and/or EMC (e.g. IEC 61000)
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of ownership
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Legal authorisation to work in the United States (Our client sponsorship not available)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Programming experience in Python and/or C++, particularly for automated test applications in hardware development
  • Experience working in a scaled agile development environment
  • Growth mindset with a willingness to learn, mentor others, and expand technical ownership
