Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) as outlined in the CSR Job Description section of the Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.
  • Assist the Manager with recruiting and training new CSR candidates.
  • Operate Point of Sale equipment, credit/debit cards, lottery, lotto, ATMs, fuel dispensers, and handle necessary paperwork.
  • Serve as an ambassador for SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s, championing the company’s values and mission statement.
  • Address customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively and promote teamwork within the store.
  • Provide leadership for CSRs, setting a positive customer experience tone in the presence and absence of the Store Manager.
  • Assist the Manager with store paperwork, scheduling, cash and inventory controls, maintaining cash levels, and preparing bank deposits.
  • Support merchandising and stocking duties.
  • Report maintenance issues and ensure safety procedures are followed, including activation of emergency controls, handling spills, using fire extinguishers and emergency shut‑offs.
  • Ensure the store is clean, ready for inspection, and that all employees follow uniform and safety rules.
  • Encourage upselling and perform protective pricing practices.
  • Participate in all scheduled training meetings.
  • Verify surveillance camera operation before shift end and report any issues to the Manager.
  • Maintain safety and security of employees while they are on duty.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, weekends, and “on call” status as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Previous success as a Customer Service Representative at SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and departmental manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively in one‑to‑one and small group settings.
  • Basic math proficiency, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of percentages and discounts.
  • Understanding of cash and inventory control procedures and basic accounting functions.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mental and physical ability to perform emergency procedures.
