Responsibilities
- Perform all duties of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) as outlined in the CSR Job Description section of the Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.
- Assist the Manager with recruiting and training new CSR candidates.
- Operate Point of Sale equipment, credit/debit cards, lottery, lotto, ATMs, fuel dispensers, and handle necessary paperwork.
- Serve as an ambassador for SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s, championing the company’s values and mission statement.
- Address customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively and promote teamwork within the store.
- Provide leadership for CSRs, setting a positive customer experience tone in the presence and absence of the Store Manager.
- Assist the Manager with store paperwork, scheduling, cash and inventory controls, maintaining cash levels, and preparing bank deposits.
- Support merchandising and stocking duties.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure safety procedures are followed, including activation of emergency controls, handling spills, using fire extinguishers and emergency shut‑offs.
- Ensure the store is clean, ready for inspection, and that all employees follow uniform and safety rules.
- Encourage upselling and perform protective pricing practices.
- Participate in all scheduled training meetings.
- Verify surveillance camera operation before shift end and report any issues to the Manager.
- Maintain safety and security of employees while they are on duty.
- Work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, weekends, and “on call” status as required.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Previous success as a Customer Service Representative at SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and departmental manuals.
- Ability to present information effectively in one‑to‑one and small group settings.
- Basic math proficiency, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculation of percentages and discounts.
- Understanding of cash and inventory control procedures and basic accounting functions.
- Basic computer skills.
- Mental and physical ability to perform emergency procedures.
