Seeking a Gynecologic Oncologist to practice high quality, innovative medicine at a community cancer subspecialty center with academic post.
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the West Michigan Cancer Center is recruiting a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist to join our team. WMCC is a multispecialty group that includes Radiation Oncologists, Gynecologic Oncologists, and other subspecialists. This position is to replace one of the two Gynecologic Oncologists who is departing October 2025. WMCC is owned by two large community hospitals in Kalamazoo, with surgeons providing surgery and inpatient care nearby. We have a strong partnership with Western Michigan University School of Medicine Ob/Gyn Residency program, with ongoing teaching and resident mentorship.
Our GYN Oncologists have access to advanced surgical and medical resources, including DaVinci Xi robotic systems, private anesthesia support, hospitalist partnerships, and PA support in clinic. The Radiation Oncology group provides innovative curative and palliative radiation services, and the GYN Oncology group collaborates with Medical Oncology for chemotherapy management. WMCC participates in NCORP clinical trials and hosts a multidisciplinary tumor board with community and resident involvement.
Responsibilities
- Join a full-time Gynecologic Oncologist role to replace a departing colleague; contribute to outpatient, surgical, and inpatient care.
- Maintain a largely outpatient robotic practice with access to DaVinci Xi systems and block time.
- Provide surgical oncology services, including access to a state-of-the-art private anesthesia group and hospitalist partnerships.
- Collaborate with Medical Oncology for chemotherapy management; participate in chemotherapy at hospital-based infusion rooms and through coordination with other oncology groups.
- Share call duties with midlevel providers (1 in 4 weeks), with weekday backup call as needed.
- Engage in teaching and administrative responsibilities; maintain a weekly schedule of 2 days in clinic, 2.5 days in surgery, and 0.5 days for administration and teaching.
- Participate in a multidisciplinary tumor board and contribute to clinical trials access for patients.
- Contribute to program development and mentorship for residents and fellows as part of the academic collaboration with WMU.
Qualifications
- ABOG-approved Ob/Gyn residency completion.
- GYN Oncology fellowship completion.
- Eligibility or current appointment in a faculty position is favorable; willingness to engage in teaching and program development.
