The Guidewire Rating Architect is responsible for the architecture design implementation and optimization of Guidewire Rating solutions within the Property Casualty PC insurance ecosystem The role involves collaborating with business underwriting actuarial product and technology teams to develop scalable and highperforming rating solutions that support insurance products pricing strategies and regulatory requirements
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Guidewire Rating management PolicyCenter integration insurance product configuration and enterprise architecture principles
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture and design of Guidewire Rating solutions across multiple insurance products and lines of business
- Define rating strategies rate books rate routines worksheets variables and pricing models
- Develop scalable and maintainable Guidewire Rating architecture aligned with enterprise standards
- Evaluate business requirements and translate them into effective Guidewire rating solutions
Design and configure
- Rate Tables

- Develop complex rating algorithms using Gosu and Guidewire configuration tools
- Ensure optimal performance and maintainability of rating calculations
Design integrations between

- External pricing platforms

- Collaborate with enterprise architects on end to end insurance platform architecture
Business Collaboration
Work closely with

- Translate pricing and underwriting rules into Guidewire rating configurations
Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural guidance to Guidewire developers and configuration teams
- Conduct solution reviews code reviews and design assessments
- Establish development standards best practices and governance
- Mentor junior and senior resources on Guidewire Rating capabilities
Performance Optimization
- Analyze and optimize rating performance
- Identify bottlenecks in rating calculations and integrations
- Implement caching data optimization and performance tuning strategies
- Ensure system scalability for high volume quote and policy transactions
Quality Compliance
- Ensure solutions comply with:
- Regulatory requirements
- Company standards
- Security policies
- Audit requirements
- Support SIT/UAT performance testing and production deployments
- Maintain architecture and design documentation
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering Mathematics or related field
Experience
- 10 years of IT experience in insurance technology
- 5 years of hands-on Guidewire implementation experience
- 3 years of experience designing Guidewire Rating solutions
- Experience in at least 2 full lifecycle Guidewire PolicyCenter implementations
- Strong Property Casualty Insurance domain knowledge

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $52.27/hour - $81.67/hour.
