Guidance Counselor
Geneva County Schools is seeking a Guidance Counselor. The role involves providing educational, personal, and vocational counseling to students and coordinating resources to empower students to reach their full potential.
Key responsibilities include developing guidance programs, establishing short- and long-range plans, communicating counseling program goals, implementing and monitoring school-wide counseling services, and maintaining student records according to established guidelines.
The position reports to the Principal and requires the ability to counsel and assist students, parents, and school personnel in the resolution of problems in student learning, behavior, and mental health. The Guidance Counselor must also maintain sensitivity to multicultural issues and confidentiality.
Physical requirements include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force as needed to move objects.
Salary and benefits will be paid consistent with the System's approved compensation plan. The length of the work year and hours of employment will be those established by the System.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on evaluation of personnel.
