General Summary of Duties:


The Group Sales Manager will act as a hotel -client liaison while identifying, developing and maintaining property sales objectives, sales plans, and programs in accordance with the hotel's overall marketing plan and mission statement.


Examples of Duties



  • Conduct solicitation efforts through effective oral and written communication while managing rate, date and space commitments for room sales within the hotel

  • Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients

  • Manage all sales systems, lead referrals, and record efforts

  • Conduct site tours for potential clients

  • Aim to achieve and exceed individual and team annual goals

  • Be fully knowledgeable of competitive markets outside the area

  • Be fully knowledgeable of the capabilities and limitations of the hotel and departments that may impact sales strategies

  • Work closely with client after booking to develop good working relationship, including letter of introduction, meeting planner materials, prompt response to calls and requests

  • Maintain detailed records of discussions with guest, including room accommodations, all meeting setups, food and beverage, transportation, etc.

  • Upsell to improve revenue generation on property

  • Respond and resolve guest requests, complaints, or questions in a courteous and timely manner

  • Maintain and correct procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets

  • Organize and/or attend scheduled Sales Department and related meetings

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned


Position Requirements



  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English

  • Professional demeanor appropriate for a luxury environment

  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressive, results driven, hotel sales experience required

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, leadership, time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills

  • Ability to accurately use various office and accounting software

  • Must possess strong computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel and CI/TY

  • Must demonstrate the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Must be able to work effectively, without supervision


Education



  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or related major preferred
