Group Facilitator – PHP/IOP ProgramsBenevolent Family Services (BFS) is a Joint Commission-accredited, DBHDS-licensed behavioral health organization offering PHP and IOP services to adults and adolescents across Hampton and Richmond, Virginia. BFS operates six service lines under Medicaid MCO contracts, including MH-PHP, SA-PHP, MH-IOP, and SA-IOP. We are people first and have enjoyed the work we do for over 12 years.The Group Facilitator plans and leads structured therapeutic group sessions, maintains compliant clinical documentation, and supports members in working toward individualized recovery goals within a structured day-program environment.ResponsibilitiesFacilitate daily therapeutic group sessions for PHP and/or IOP members using evidence-based approaches (CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing, psychoeducation)Plan and prepare group content, skill-building activities, and relapse prevention programming aligned with member treatment goalsComplete same-day progress notes and assist with weekly treatment plan updates per Medicaid, MCO, and BFS documentation standardsAssist with continued stay authorizations and level-of-care documentation as directed by the Clinical SupervisorAdminister substance use surveys, behavioral health screenings, and other clinical instruments as requiredParticipate in team meetings, case reviews, and scheduled supervisionCommunicate member progress, behavioral concerns, and safety issues to the Clinical Supervisor promptlyAdhere to BFS policies, DBHDS regulations, and Joint Commission standards at all timesMinimum QualificationsActive Virginia credential required: CSAC, LMSW, LPC, LMHP-R, or equivalent designation recognized by DBHDS for PHP/IOP service deliveryMinimum 1–2 years of experience facilitating therapeutic groups; PHP, IOP, or structured outpatient setting strongly preferredWorking knowledge of evidence-based group modalities and behavioral health treatment principlesAbility to produce accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with Medicaid and state guidelinesFamiliarity with ASAM criteria and Virginia DBHDS regulations preferredPreferred QualificationsExperience across both mental health and substance use programmingComfort working in a structured, fast-paced clinical environment with direct accountability to documentation timelinesExperience with adolescent programming or evening/extended-day schedulesBilingual candidates encouraged to applySchedule & CompensationPart-time/contract or full-time available: approximately 25–40 hours per weekDaytime shifts available for adult PHP/IOP; evening shifts available for adolescent IOP programmingBenefits package available for full-timeConsistent weekly schedule; hours increase with program census growth$32.00 – $38.00 per hour, commensurate with credential level and PHP/IOP experienceBenevolent Family Services is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
