This is a fully remote position with minimal travel.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison for mid‑to‑large employer group clients, ensuring smooth delivery of employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and voluntary products.
- Manage day‑to‑day account servicing needs such as renewals, policy changes, eligibility updates, and compliance‑related documentation.
- Partner closely with clients’ HR and leadership teams to design benefits strategies that align with workforce needs, budget considerations, and long‑term retention goals.
- Oversee implementation of new benefit plans, ensuring a seamless onboarding process for both employers and employees.
- Conduct regular client reviews to assess plan performance, utilization trends, and satisfaction, recommending adjustments when needed.
- Collaborate with carriers to negotiate renewals, resolve escalated claims issues, and secure competitive pricing and plan designs.
- Deliver proactive communication and educational support to clients and their employees, including benefit presentations, enrollment support, and employee‑facing materials.
- Stay current on state and federal regulatory changes impacting group benefits and ensure clients remain compliant with ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable requirements.
Skills & Requirements
- 2+ years of experience managing group health and ancillary benefit programs, ideally in an agency or brokerage environment.
- Current Life & Health license in NC or VA is required.
- Strong knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and supplemental benefit offerings.
- Skilled at navigating carrier relationships, renewals, and claims resolution processes.
- Ability to interpret benefit plan documents and provide clear guidance to clients and employees.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple client priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities, with experience leading benefit meetings and employee education sessions.
- Familiarity with regulatory guidelines (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) and best practices for maintaining compliance.
- Proficiency with benefits administration systems, spreadsheets, and client management tools.
