GroundskeeperThe Groundskeeper is a contact point for students, teachers, support staff, colleagues and parents. The Groundskeeper is responsible for the day to day operation of the grounds area assigned to them, security, safety, and other functions as assigned.Customer SupportAssist in the implementation and follow through of snow removal, grass cutting, athletic field marking, asphalt repairs, asphalt striping, and maintaining of equipmentAssist building administrators and other support staff in scheduling athletic events, setting up for these events, and other special tasks as assigned by building administratorCollaborate with teachers and support personnel for the purpose of assisting in the mission of the school districtAssist in the implementation and follow through on projects assigned in buildings during slow work days and rain daysSupervise Custodial staff and interact with district resources (carpenters, grounds personnel) to take care of building exterior and groundsSupervise Temporary summer support staff and snow removal support staffDirect ServicePerform daily cleaning (trash), mowing, raking leaves, removing snow and ice around buildings and at athletic facilities including playgroundsPerforms small landscaping projects as assignedPerforms maintenance/repair of equipment under their careOperate and repair underground irrigation systemsDeliver gas to other buildingsPerforms licensed herbicide and pesticide applicationsCoordinate outside contractors regarding building envelope work, asphalt work and all exterior work at buildings assignedTakes care of ordering and installing signs as neededInstalls and repairs exterior fencingPerform small welding repairs as neededAdministrative SupportMaintains records for inventory, gas usage, snow removal contacts, and corrective/preventive maintenance records of equipmentMaintains accurate records of exterior lighting lamps, underground irrigation line/head locationsOther duties as assignedWorking Environment/Physical DemandsContinuous standing and walkingFrequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeingFrequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies and furnitureOccasionally lifting up to 50 poundsFrequent pushing and pullingWork with various chemicals and follow Material Safety Data SheetWork with personal protective equipment in dealing with body fluidsWorking outside during inclement weatherBenefitsWe offer a comprehensive benefits package for employees working a minimum of 30 hours per week*.
