School Grounds Maintenance WorkerThe School Grounds Maintenance Worker is responsible for maintaining safe, clean, and attractive outdoor areas across school campuses. This position supports a positive learning environment by ensuring school grounds are well-kept, hazard-free, and visually welcoming for students, staff, and visitors.Key ResponsibilitiesMow, edge, trim, and maintain lawns, fields, and landscaped areasMaintain playgrounds, athletic fields, and outdoor common areasPrune trees, shrubs, and hedges to ensure safety and appearanceRemove litter, leaves, snow, and debris from walkways and groundsAssist with seasonal landscaping projects and campus beautificationOperate and maintain grounds equipment and tools safelyInspect grounds daily for hazards and report safety concernsSupport school events by setting up and breaking down outdoor areasFollow school district safety policies and proceduresQualifications & SkillsPrevious grounds keeping or landscaping experience preferredKnowledge of lawn care, basic landscaping, and outdoor maintenanceAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsPhysically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for long periodsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamBackground check required (school environment)Valid driver's license requiredWork ScheduleFull-time or part-time, based on school needsEarly mornings, summers, and seasonal work requiredOccasional weekend or event supportCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experienceSchool district benefits may include health insurance, paid holidays, and retirement plans
