They span the entire program life cycle from early concept studies, design development, system integration/test, launch and early operations, mission operations/sustainment, and system disposal. Programs range from small feasibility studies to medium-sized on-orbit technology demonstrations and large-scale national systems.A successful candidate enjoys learning and learns quickly, is motivated by the opportunity to solve hard problems with challenging boundary conditions, works well with a motivated and mission-focused team, enjoys working with both speed and accuracy, and takes great pride in their work and the work of the team(s). Candidates should have demonstrated experience in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring.What you'll have an opportunity to do:Lead a team of classified systems engineers, mission architects, software developers and interface SMEsInterface regularly with customers and senior leadershipDevelop client and server applications and services using service-oriented architectures, message bus-based data exchange that include first-of-a-kind capabilitiesApplications will span languages and toolsets including C++, Python, Postgres, Ansible, cloud infrastructure provisioning, PKI, and static code analysis execution and finding remediationBe a self-starter, capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mindDevelop software which provides command and control functionality of a hardware system (sending commands, receiving acknowledgements, working on and integrating across interfaces)Develop software which enables activity planning and constraint checking to achieve mission outcomesDevelop software which enables the visualization of a complex and dynamic environment in both 2 and 3 dimensions, complete with tools, intelligent context, and user-centric interface designServe as development lead within the programBasic Qualifications:BS in aerospace engineering, software engineering, computer science, or closely related discipline plus 14 years of development experience (12 years with a M.S. degree, 9 years with a PhD) with C++ and PythonMust have U.S.

Citizenship with a current or active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibilityUnderstanding of Agile software development practices, including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and Agile DevOpsExperience with the design, build, and deployment of software productsExperience in producing software architecture documentationLeadership experience - the ability to lead/organize a team of developers and agile scrum teamsExperience with C++ and PythonPreferred Qualifications:Experience developing satellite ground software with any of the following applications for spacecraft missions: command and control, mission planning, visualization, and/or astrodynamicsExperience with the creation and use of spacecraft command and control systems utilizing cryptographic equipment and a combination of government and/or commercial communications pathsExperience with the creation and use of planning software and constraint checking applications utilized in astrodynamically complex and kinematically dynamic space mission planningExperience with the creation and implementation of visualization tools for space missions, including dynamic renderings of space vehicles, depiction of space vehicle missions, simulation of space vehicle sensors and mission outputs, and configuration displays of complex contextual and situational awareness informationKnowledge of Java, C, Qt, Linux, Ansible, Docker, and/or FreeFlyerExperience with Graphics and AnimationSalary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
