Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain object‑oriented ground system software applications using Java, C#, Angular, and Python.
• Support modernization efforts to achieve greater efficiency, security, automation, and scalability.
• Collaborate with software, systems, and test engineers using Agile Development methodology.
• Participate in progressing system capabilities from early design through site acceptance, focusing on software reuse, COTS/FOSS integrations, and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong software development/engineering background with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Experience developing ground subsystems.
• Demonstrated expertise in Scaled Agile development methodologies and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across Agile teams.
• Participation in a fellowship through the LM Heroes Fellowship Program.
• Experience with Java, C++, C#, Python, cloud/containerization, distributed systems, microservices, Git, DevSecOps pipelines, Agile Methodologies, CI/CD, regression testing, back‑end development, and algorithms.
• Previous experience developing communications/ground subsystems and working knowledge of Horizon, Compass, and SMO applications.

Desired Skills

• Meaningful experience designing and implementing software solutions in Java, C++, C#, and Python.
• Cloud/containerization experience and understanding of distributed systems.
• Experience developing microservices and using Git for version control.
• Working knowledge of DevSecOps pipelines.
• Excellent understanding of Agile Methodologies and the Scaled Agile Framework.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and regression testing.
• Strong problem‑solving skills applied to software engineering solutions.
• Experience with back‑end development and algorithms.
• Previous experience with Horizon, Compass, and SMO applications.
