Kettle PolisherThe first shift Kettle Polisher will perform a wide variety of polishing operations to obtain specified finish or polish and luster to fabrications and parts from sheet metal, stainless and other materials. Involves set ups and operation of tools and equipment to remove excess material or burrs from surfaces to buff or polish metal while observing safety, housekeeping and quality management procedures. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, plan work and support the organization through individual contribution and teamwork environment.
May require overtime.Operate finishing tools to obtain desired finish without impacting product performance and visual aestheticPerform visual inspection of product to ensure removal of blemish, debris, etc.Work within a team environment to meet production schedulePerform tasks following quality and safety practices and proceduresWill frequently stand, stoop, lift and utilize material handling equipment to move up to 50 lbs.Minimum QualificationsTwo years metal finishing experience in a manufacturing environment.Ability to read, write and possess basic math skillsUnderstanding of polishing wheels and selection of abrasives best suited for type of material and finish requirementsAbility to operate overhead hoists and lifting equipment.Ability to lift or move average to heavy weight material in difficult work positions.Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and performing repetitive tasksPeriods of working in hot/cold manufacturing environmentCompensation Information:Starts at $21.87 @ hour and after 6 months, tops out at $27.34 @ hour.ITW is an equal opportunity employer.
