Green Local Schools is located in Wayne County, Ohio, serving a supportive community with a commitment to student success and organizational integrity.Position OverviewThe Treasurer serves as the Chief Fiscal Officer of the District and is responsible for the financial leadership and oversight of all district operations. This individual will play a critical role in long-term financial planning, day-to-day fiscal management, and continuous improvement of systems and processes.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the fiscal agent and steward of all district funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparencyCollaborate with the Board and Superintendent on annual appropriations and the five-year financial forecastMaintain all financial records in accordance with Ohio law and Auditor of State requirementsPrepare, review, and certify all required financial reports to the Ohio Department of Education and WorkforceProvide strategic analysis and recommendations to improve financial operations and district efficiencySupervise and evaluate all personnel within the Treasurer's Office, including EMIS functionsServe as Secretary to the Board of Education, including preparation of board agendas, minutes, and required legal noticesOversee district cash management, investments, and deposits in compliance with applicable lawsManage employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, and retirement-related functionsCoordinate and support all audit functions, ensuring strong internal controls and regulatory complianceSupport Business and Finance Committee work aligned to the district's strategic prioritiesManage risk, insurance programs, and required bonding for district leadershipQualificationsValid Ohio Treasurer's License required.
Prior experience as a Treasurer or Assistant Treasurer preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of: school finance and governmental accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, state and federal compliance requirements, board governance and public sector operations. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations.
Must successfully pass required BCI/FBI background checks.CompensationThe Board of Education will offer a competitive multi-year contract.
