Individuals seeking accommodations for disabilities are typically required to provide medical documentation supporting the existence of a disability, the need for the accommodation, and what workplace modifications will enable the employee to perform the essential functions of the job.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Grants & Strategic Projects Associate will be responsible for activities related to building and formalizing relationships with new and existing government and private foundation funding agencies to increase their engagement with La Familia and encourage continued and increased partnership. This position will report to the Director of Grants & Strategic Projects. This role will uphold and champion the agency's mission, vision, and values and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work culture.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:This individual will be responsible for:Grant DevelopmentIdentify and track appropriate funding opportunities to maintain and enhance services.Monitor trends in the funding landscape, including local, state and federal policy.Manage and/or support the submission of the grant proposal process, including collaboration with internal stakeholders on proposal concept, narrative writing, generating and gathering proposal attachments, program design, proposal budget development, and proposal submission.Contracts & AgreementsCollaborate with funders/external partners and key internal staff to confirm and approve Memoranda of Understanding details and manage the contract execution process, according to La Familia contract review procedures.Support the development of contract language and manage the execution process to formalize relationships with subcontractors and other partner agencies.Strategic Partnership CoordinationBuild and maintain collegial working relationships with other non-profit organizations, foundations, and funders to design and implement initiatives that advance mutual goals to support the community.Represent La Familia with strategic community partners and community-facing groups.Identify and support opportunities to position La Familia as a sector leader with strategic partnerships, special events, speaking engagements, and media placements.Initiative Design and Early-Stage Implementation SupportWrite and adapt guiding documents for new initiatives, as needed, including job descriptions and program models/workflows.Liaison with the funder regarding contract implementation, including attending training and planning meetings, as needed.Software & SystemsSupport the administration of agency systems and software applications, including Salesforce, Asana, Slack, and RingCentral.Assist with data entry projects, user account setup, and report generation.Other Duties:Collaborate and coordinate with other partner-facing team members at La Familia.Continuously improve the agency's capacity by attending trainings, monitoring trade publications, attending relevant events and sharing and using new information.Track and regularly report on key metrics within each function area.Support the development and successful implementation of events designed to elevate the La Familia brandEvent planning and support for internal and external facing audiences.Develop media graphics and collateral with design software, including Canva, as needed.Collaborate on special projects related to agency objectives.Other duties as assigned by the CEO.CORE COMPETENCIES:Demonstrates ethics and integrityDisplays drive and purposeManages self and adapts to changeExhibiting leadership staturePractice self-awareness and continuous learningINCLUSION, RESPECT, AND COLLABORATION:Practices cultural humility and cultural responsiveness when engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and life experiences, while practicing appropriate boundaries.Develop relationships with their teams and across the organization to foster cultural humility and cultural responsiveness, teamwork, and collaboration, ensuring positive outcomes for the organization both internally and externally.Utilize effective communication skills to listen and respond with empathy, while adopting a proactive and collaborative approach to drive innovative change.

This approach should be sensitive to the organization's culture and its role within the community.QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree in social work, public policy, public health or related degree required.1-4 years' experience developing written documents for a stakeholder audience.Experience developing county, state, and federal grant proposals, preferred.Experience working with individuals of diverse cultural backgrounds.Project management skills to orchestrate complex projects, and ability to prioritize work in a fast paced environmentAbility to navigate shifting priorities and adapt to change in the professional environment.Experience in non-profit and community-based organizations preferred.Demonstrates and models excellent "customer service" orientation and ability to work with diverse populations.Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance, and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties.Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace products.Valid CA Driver's license required.
