Grants Administrator
Location: Cleveland, OH (Fully Onsite)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday
Duration: 3-Month Temporary Assignment with Potential for Extension
Pay: $25–$27/hour
Our client is seeking a Grants Administrator to support research and sponsored program activities within a higher education environment. This role will assist with the management of the full lifecycle of research grants, including proposal support, budget monitoring, financial reporting, compliance tracking, and coordination with faculty, researchers, and internal departments.
This is a great opportunity for candidates with grants administration experience, as well as professionals with transferable experience in accounting, finance, or administrative roles involving budgeting, financial analysis, compliance, or project coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and submission of grant proposals by reviewing requirements, gathering documentation, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with managing sponsored research accounts by monitoring budgets, reviewing expenditures, and ensuring funds are used appropriately.
- Prepare financial reports, reconcile account activity, and assist with grant closeout processes.
- Review expenses and documentation to ensure compliance with university policies and sponsor requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audits and reporting requirements.
- Partner with faculty, researchers, finance teams, and administrative staff to provide support throughout the grant lifecycle.
- Assist with tracking deadlines, reporting requirements, budget updates, and other grant-related activities.
- Support process improvements, documentation updates, and training materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- Experience in grants administration, research administration, higher education, nonprofit, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to review and interpret financial information.
- Experience managing budgets, tracking expenses, reconciling information, or supporting compliance processes.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, or other financial systems is a plus.
