Graduate Intern – Esports Operations & Recruitment

Graduate InternBatten University Esports is seeking a motivated and creative Graduate Intern to support the Director of Esports with daily program operations, student-athlete engagement, recruitment initiatives, and the execution of our premier collegiate Rocket League LAN event, CompleteU Collision on the Coast. This role is ideal for a graduate student interested in esports administration, event management, collegiate athletics, marketing, and social media strategy.The Graduate Intern will play an active role in helping grow the university's esports ecosystem while gaining hands-on experience in collegiate esports operations and event production.Position ResponsibilitiesEsports Operations SupportAssist the Director of Esports with day-to-day team operations and administrative tasksCoordinate team schedules, practice logistics, match communications, and player supportHelp maintain organization and communication between players, coaches, and staffSupport gameday and competition operations for varsity esports programsEvent Management – CompleteU Collision on the CoastAssist in planning and executing the university's signature Rocket League collegiate LAN event, CompleteU Collision on the CoastCoordinate event logistics including team communication, registration, scheduling, venue setup, and tournament operationsSupport sponsor engagement, attendee experience, and event-day staffingAssist with live event promotion and on-site content creationRecruitment & OutreachUtilize the Stay Plugged In Program to identify, contact, and recruit prospective esports student-athletesConduct outreach through phone calls, email, Discord, and social media platformsBuild relationships with prospective students, coaches, and esports communitiesMaintain recruitment tracking and communication recordsSocial Media & ContentAssist with management of Batten University Esports social media platforms including X and InstagramCreate engaging esports-related content including graphics, short videos, match announcements, and event promotionsHelp grow audience engagement and brand visibility across platformsCapture and post live content during events and competitionsQualificationsCurrently enrolled in a graduate program at Batten UniversityStrong interest in esports, collegiate athletics, gaming culture, or event managementFamiliarity with collegiate Esports preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsExperience with social media platforms, especially X and InstagramAbility to work evenings and weekends during competitions and eventsSelf-motivated, collaborative, and detail-orientedPreferred SkillsExperience with Esports tournament platforms and Discord communitiesBasic graphic design or video editing experienceKnowledge of collegiate esports recruiting practicesEvent operations or livestream production experience is a plusLearning OpportunitiesThis internship provides practical experience in:Collegiate Esports administrationEvent planning and LAN tournament operationsStudent-athlete recruitmentBrand development and social media marketingCommunity engagement within the esports industryCompensation & ScheduleGraduate Internship Position- full tuition and stipendFlexible scheduling based on academic commitmentsOpportunities for travel and event participation may be availableThis description is to be regarded as a general overview of the responsibilities required for this position.
