Our client, a large financial services company, is seeking an experienced Government Relations Associate for a 6-month contract assignment located in Charlotte, NC. This role is mostly remote with occasional in-person meetings (ideally once a week).
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and monitor legislation and regulation that is relevant to the company and communicate any developments and potential impacts to business partners creating a collaborative environment to establish policy positions on key legislation and regulation
- Identify relevant legislative and regulatory priorities in coordination with business partners and build internal coalitions on issue-specific matters to ensure cross-functional approach to policy development
- Represent the company on relevant trade association committees and working groups
- Assist in the collection of data on an annual basis to support the company’s public disclosure initiatives as they relate to material sustainability initiatives
- Maintain, document, and enhance formal policies and procedures that the team relies on to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
- Track and document all engagements the team has with legislators and regulators by individual, topic, and outcome of the engagement
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
- 3+ years in supporting Government Relations or related field
- Knowledge of the legislative/regulatory process required, with life insurance/financial services experience a plus
- Strong analytical ability and oral and written communications skills
- Ability to effectively interact with internal clients
- Understanding of relevant trade associations and how the organization works in collaboration with them
- A team attitude, ability to work collaboratively across functions
Pay Rate- $30.00- $40.00/hour
