Government Operations Consultant II (WT: Law Enforcement Intelligence Analyst I) - The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) provides highway safety and security through excellence in service, education, and enforcement. With a workforce of approximately 4,500 employees throughout the state, the Department is leading the way to a Safer Florida through the efficient and professional execution of its core mission: the issuance of driver licenses, vehicle tags and titles, and operation of the Florida Highway Patrol.This position is within the Florida Highway Patrol, Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence (BCII) as an entry level analyst position. The Law Enforcement Intelligence Analyst (LEIA) I position compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information and intelligence from various law enforcement and open sources to internal and external stakeholders.

This position conducts research on large volumes of criminal intelligence data to identify trends and patterns, and support investigations relevant to the Florida Highway Patrol Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Intelligence and Patrol Operations.The role will include responding to requests for analytical and investigative assistance from state, local, and federal law enforcement agencies; researching, analyzing, and evaluating criminal intelligence information to determine source reliability and accuracy, identify patterns and trends, and develop investigative leads and associations in support of law enforcement investigations; preparing and distributing current criminal intelligence information through intelligence reports, briefings, threat assessments, and presentations to internal staff and other law enforcement agencies; conducting complex research on crime-specific or domestic security-related information relevant to the Florida Highway Patrol in support of the Bureau's investigations and patrol operations; requesting, receiving, analyzing, and documenting confidential information using electronic, technical, and support systems while exercising independent judgment, discretion, and a high level of confidentiality; utilizing and operating computers, programs, and technical equipment while maintaining knowledge of analytic and investigative resources; initiating, establishing, and maintaining liaison with personnel across local, state, and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies; attending meetings and trainings relevant to the position; and performing other duties as required.Preference will be given to candidates with at least four years of experience where their primary function was intelligence or analysis; at least one year of experience where their primary function was intelligence or analysis AND a Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Criminal Justice or a related discipline.
