Job Duties
nOperates mowers and string trimmers in trimming greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, edges cart paths, other edging around clubhouse grounds, rakes and maintains sand and grass bunkers.
nSets tee markers and cups on greens daily, maintains ball washers, replaces tee towels and flags when needed, removes debris from in and around tees and greens, sands and seeds tee and drop area divots, and cleans flower beds.
nMaintains fuel and fluid levels for all types of equipment daily, reports equipment problems or failures to the Golf Course Equipment Mechanic immediately.
nReturns all equipment to the designated location at the maintenance facility.
nMows greens, tees, aprons, and approaches to greens, and other areas not accessible with gang mowers, and rakes sand traps with power rakes
nMay be required to occasionally operate gang mowers in the absence of the Golf Course Equipment Operator.
nWaters and fertilizers tees, greens and fairways, and under the direct supervision of a certified applicator, sprays chemicals on landscaped areas.
nUnder the direction of the Golf Course Superintendent or the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent, the Groundskeeper marks the course for cart control weekly, moves cart control
nbarriers and replaces worn or lost ropes and signs, and may mark hazard and drop areas.
nHelps with project work, assists in the construction of greens, tees and fairways, grades and prepares soil base, lays sod, and seeds tees, greens, and fairways.
nInstalls forms and lays walks and paths using gravel and asphalt mixes, excavates and backfills ditches and trenches with hand tools, repairs and replaces pipe on irrigation system.
nDisplays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
nRecognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
nRepresents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.

nDue to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

nMinimum Experience Required
nNo Driver’s License required.
nKnowledge of methods and materials used in grounds and landscape area construction and maintenance is preferred.
nWorking knowledge of and the ability to use hand and power tools and equipment is required.
nKnowledge of the safe mechanical operation of trucks and other motorized equipment is required.
nKnowledge of the principles of the operation of gasoline engines is required.
nPossession of mechanical aptitude is required.
nAbility to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
nAbility to work independently and establish priorities is required.
nAttention to detail and accuracy is required.
nAbility to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
nSubject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.

nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:
nThe ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required.
nWalking, standing, running, bending, stooping, climbing, pushing, and pulling are required.
