Golang Developer

Position: Golang Developer
Location: Menlo Park, CA
Work Model: Day 1 Onsite (3 Days Office / 2 Days Remote)
Employment Type: W2 Contract

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications and services using Go.
• Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems and APIs.
• Develop concurrent and distributed applications using goroutines, channels, and synchronization primitives.
• Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Collaborate with software engineers, QA teams, product managers, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, performance, and production issues.
• Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and monitoring solutions.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, and resource utilization.
• Work with systems and services written in C or C++, where required.
• Follow software development best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
• Strong proficiency in Go/Golang development.
• Solid understanding of Go concepts, including concurrency, interfaces, error handling, memory management, and package design.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, or distributed applications.
• Knowledge of software development lifecycle practices.
• Proficiency with Git and version control systems.
• Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or Redis.
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to write reliable, testable, and production-ready code.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Understanding of Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.

Desired Qualifications
• Professional experience with C and/or C++.
• Experience integrating Go applications with C/C++ libraries or services.
• Knowledge of systems programming, operating systems, networking, or embedded software.
• Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and containerized applications.
• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or NATS.
• Experience with performance profiling, optimization, and memory management.
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Open Telemetry, or ELK.
• Experience working in Agile or Scrum development environments.

Nice-to-Have
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Familiarity with gRPC, protocol buffers, or other service-to-service communication technologies.
• Knowledge of networking protocols and network programming.
• Experience working with high-throughput or low-latency systems.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with automated build, release, and deployment processes.
• Exposure to secure coding practices and application security principles.
• Familiarity with profiling and debugging tools for Go, C, or C++.
