Global Strategic Sourcing ManagerWe are seeking a full-time Global Strategic Sourcing Manager at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing strategic sourcing plans that create maximum benefits for the business and is responsible for commodity strategy related with electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical products and or services including: sourcing strategy, spend segmentation, supply market analysis, supplier capability assessment, supplier recruitment and management, RFI/P/Q development, developing a business case for improved supply and or service, while managing assigned commodities or services across multiple sites.Essential FunctionsAbility to lead and drive execution of supply chain strategies in a collaborative and multi-site matrix environment to achieve both tactical and strategic goalsApply knowledge of commodities and commodity market trends and serve as an expert in influencing, leading and driving project implementation of supply chain strategies and development of short and long term goals for management considerationAbility to influence and project lead to successfully carry out complex strategiesResponsible for multi-site negotiations and executions of sourcing agreements for assigned commodities and/or servicesNegotiate strategic agreements and drive cost, quality, delivery and service (QCDS) improvements across multiple departments and sitesUse analytical and qualitative methods to analyze market commodities and product dataDemonstrate full knowledge and serve as a technical leader for assigned commodities and/or servicesOrganize, facilitate and manage cross-functional teams to develop commodity and/or service strategiesWork with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to ensure sourcing decisions achieve overall commodity objectivesAbility to identify and help drive technical root cause and corrective action for assigned product or service responsibilitiesAssure execution of Supplier Guidelines with responsible suppliers in support of various sitesBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in a related Operations field AND a minimum of 9 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceMust demonstrate strong verbal, written, negotiating and analytical skillsMust demonstrate a proven track record of the ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment to effectively meet deadlinesDemonstrated proficient knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) softwareMust possess demonstrated knowledgeable of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRPII)/Master Production Schedule (MPS) processDemonstrated significant technical knowledge with electronic and electro-mechanical commoditiesDemonstrated extensive experience assessing requirements, negotiating and executing supply contracts and/or service agreementsAbility to travel domestically and internationallyDesired QualificationsProfessional certification, such as Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM)Previous experience in electronics manufacturing or repair purchasingGarmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
