Global Sourcing ManagerThe General Motors Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) organization is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for current or future Global Sourcing Manager roles. Selected candidates will be invited to join one of the following areas within the GPSC organization:Chassis Propulsion StructuresInterior/ Exterior/ ThermalBattery, Fuel Cells, & Critical MaterialElectrical systems, Software and ConnectivityIndirect Purchasing or OtherThe ideal candidate will be comfortable operating autonomously, solving problems independently, and prioritizing tasks that maximize enterprise value for General Motors and the Global Purchasing and Supply Chain (GPSC) function:Responsible for maintaining sourcing pipeline, benchmarking data, strategy presentations, global budget, and on-time metricsAdhere to corporate and departmental purchasing and accounting practices and proceduresSourcing and contracting activities that include, but are not limited to:Sourcing strategy, bid list development & managementQuote analysis and reviewCoordination and alignment of RFQ package components, including Terms & Conditions, SOR compliance, technical documentation and quality alignmentLeadership sourcing recommendation and alignment with cross-functional teamsManagement of sourcing documentation related to RFQ process in adherence to the GM Audit Services requirementsSupport direct material budget activitiesLead/Support supplier relationship management initiatives, including "Strategic Supplier Engagement" and nurture relationship with suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolutionPerform change management activitiesLead or represent the purchasing function in supplier KPI reviewsRepresent purchasing and support mitigation of supply chain disruptionsPromote GM's behaviors and values and makes customer-focused decisionsYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):2+ years relevant work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)Demonstrates ability to execute with direction or support in the following competencies:Data Judgement – Competency using automated tools, ability to objectively analyze data and draw meaningful conclusionsInformative Communication - Ability to communicate relevant information to the appropriate audience both effectively and timelyRelationship Management - Develops and maintains constructive, cooperative working relationshipsNegotiation - engage in collaborative discussions to reach meaningful agreementsAnalytical Thinking - Consider various factors in decision making to determine solutions and their impactsResults Focus - Take charge without prompting, seize opportunities and deliver on timeWorkload Management - Manage multiple tasks with quality; prioritize by critical needsAbility to travel 5-10% Domestically + InternationallySAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systemsWhat Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related fieldExperience with commoditiesCost analysis or manufacturing experienceAutomotive industry experienceKnowledge of Capacity and Materials ManagementCapable of drawing conclusions from complex data, market trends and the regulatory environmentAbility to understand basic engineering documents and technical drivers for the applicable commoditiesKnowledge of contract law as it applies to the purchasing processesGM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
