Global Payroll Director – $210,000+ base + 20% bonus & equity – Fully Remote

We are partnering with a fast‑growing, international technology organisation seeking a Global Payroll Director to lead payroll strategy, operations, and transformation. This is a high‑impact leadership role for someone who thrives in scaling environments and enjoys building best‑in‑class payroll functions from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement robust payroll processes, internal controls, and timelines to ensure accurate, compliant, and efficient payroll operations across multiple regions.
  • Partner with internal teams to build payroll dashboards and reporting capabilities that deliver actionable insights and improved visibility for leadership.
  • Collaborate with HR and systems teams to improve Workday employee self‑service functionality, streamlining processes and enhancing user experience.
  • Grow and strengthen the payroll team, hiring top talent and developing staff to support a complex, global organisation.
  • Enable global growth by establishing compliant payroll processes in new jurisdictions. Lead payroll integration during acquisitions and work closely with HR, Legal, and Tax teams to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Manage the integration of payroll systems from newly acquired businesses, ensuring alignment with company standards and seamless employee experiences.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, manage payroll‑related audits, and ensure accurate and compliant compensation reporting.
  • Workday Payroll and HCM, global payroll systems, reporting dashboards, employee self‑service modules.

Experience Required

  • 8 plus years of payroll experience, with a strong focus on global payroll operations across EMEA, APAC, and LATAM
  • 5 plus years of hands‑on Workday Payroll experience
  • Proven experience leading payroll integration projects
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and the associated payroll/HR integration
  • Familiarity with Professional Employer Organisation models and transitioning payroll in‑house
  • Leadership experience in scaling payroll teams and building processes in complex organisations
