Job Summary

A Global Employer Services (GES) Managing Director responsible for working with partners to ensure successful operations and financial growth of the group. Works closely with the Compensation and Benefits team, markets the company’s actuarial products, oversees delivery of actuarial services, and completes annual client activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides direction and oversight of actuarial services to clients
  • Carrys out collaborative work with partners to meet financial goals
  • Prepares white papers and articles to showcase expertise
  • Interviews executives and board directors for project recommendations
  • Leads marketing and business development initiatives
  • Develops team policies, procedures, and service delivery standards
  • Directs technology and systems used by employees
  • Recruit, manage and train staff
  • Improves quality and consistency of product offerings
  • Participates in special projects and represents team initiatives
  • Maintains attendance, punctuality, and professional appearance
  • Manages relationships and delivery of actuarial services for key client accounts
  • Reviews client invoices for completeness and accuracy
  • Demonstrates understanding of assigned clients and their plans
  • Introduces and develops new or improved ideas to improve the firm and its personnel
  • Consistently suggests improvements for previous work products or approaches
  • Experiments and develops promising new strategies and ideas
  • Presents complex strategies to clients and prospective clients

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Supervises day‑to‑day workload of tax GES Managers and staff on engagements
  • Ensures managers and staff are trained on relevant tax software
  • Evaluates performance and assists in development of goals and objectives
  • Provides periodic performance feedback and completes evaluations
  • Acts as career advisor to managers and staff, as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience: Ten (10) or more years of prior experience in actuarial services
  • License/Certification: Enrolled Actuary preferred
  • Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Excel, Word); exposure to RIA, CCH, BNA, Lexis‑Nexis required
  • Language: High proficiency in English, both verbal and written (including technical writing)
  • Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, technical writing
    • Solid organizational skills, deadline‑driven
    • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to build strong client relationships and interact with professionals at all levels
    • Effective interpretation of legal documents
    • Advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, database functions, time value)
    • Intermediate to advanced Access skills

Salary Range

National: $157,500 – $420,000
Maryland: $157,500 – $420,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $157,500 – $420,000
Washington DC: $157,500 – $420,000
