Position Overview
Greenville ISD is seeking dependable and student-focused Secondary Instructional Aides to support instructional programs at middle and high school campuses. This position assists teachers with classroom activities, student supervision, and administrative tasks to promote a safe and effective learning environment.
Primary Purpose
Assist teachers with instructional support, classroom management, and campus operations to promote student learning and success in accordance with district and campus expectations.
Qualifications
Education / Certification:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Ability to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate (certification may be obtained through the District)
• Completion of the ParaSkills Course through STEDI.org (course will be purchased by the District)

Special Knowledge / Skills:

• Ability to work effectively with middle and high school students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow teacher direction and work collaboratively with staff
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Experience:

• Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties
Instructional Support

• Assist teachers with preparing instructional materials and classroom activities
• Work with individual students or small groups to reinforce academic concepts
• Support implementation of classroom assignments, projects, and instructional activities

Student Supervision & Support

• Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, or other assigned times
• Reinforce campus expectations and appropriate student behavior
• Monitor students and communicate concerns to the teacher or administration

Classroom & Administrative Support

• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
• Assist with copying, filing, and organizing instructional materials
• Support substitute teachers as needed

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff development and campus meetings as assigned
• Support campus programs and activities as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration

Working Conditions
Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and light lifting of instructional materials

Mental Demands:

• Ability to maintain emotional control and professionalism in a busy school environment
