GIS Technician – Network Underground Services (NUS)Work Model: Hybrid (Onsite 4 days per week; 1 day remote)Location- AtlantaClient- Georgia PowerJob SummaryWe are seeking a GIS Technician with strong AutoCAD skills to support the Network Underground Services (NUS) team. This role focuses on the design, creation, and maintenance of underground utility drawings, ensuring strict adherence to departmental and engineering standards.The GIS Technician plays a critical role in producing accurate engineering and specification drawings, maintaining GIS data integrity, and supporting both the Network Underground Design Engineer and the NUS Test Group. This position is essential to ensuring data accuracy, operational efficiency, and reliable underground network documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, create, and maintain underground utility drawings using GIS and AutoCAD toolsProduce engineering and specification drawings in accordance with departmental procedures and standardsUpdate and maintain GIS databases and spatial data to ensure accuracy and consistencySupport the Network Underground Design Engineer with drawing updates and design documentationProvide drawing and data support to the NUS Test GroupEnsure all drawings reflect current field conditions, testing results, and approved designsPerform quality checks to verify accuracy and completeness of drawings and GIS dataMaintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and documentationCollaborate with engineers, designers, and field teams to resolve drawing or data discrepanciesRequired QualificationsExperience working as a GIS Technician or CAD/GIS support roleStrong proficiency with AutoCADExperience creating and maintaining underground utility drawingsWorking knowledge of GIS software, tools, and databasesStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyAbility to follow established procedures and engineering standardsEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting underground electric or utility network servicesFamiliarity with utility engineering drawings and specificationsExperience working with network testing or underground service teamsWork EnvironmentHybrid schedule with four days onsite and one day remote per weekOffice-based work supporting engineering and utility operationsCollaborative environment with engineers, GIS professionals, and field teams
