GIS Application DeveloperOur client in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a GIS Application Developer.The GIS Application Developer is responsible for assisting the applications team within the Executive Office of our client, in the building of public-facing GIS applications. These applications will leverage both configurable and customized solutions to provide interfaces for a range of users to discover and explore geodata related to our client's core mission.The GIS Application Developer is responsible for ensuring GIS deliverables are well-planned, executed efficiently, and delivered with high quality. The GIS Application Developer will work closely with the Application team and the agency GIS Coordinators to accomplish fiscal year GIS milestones.Primary Responsibilities:Migrate existing map applications to javascript API 4.xExtend Web AppBuilder with custom widgetsExtend ArcGIS Hub Sites with custom htmlMaintain consistent branding and look and feel between client department applications, with focus on readability and accessibilityDevelop a style guide and best practices for future configurable solutions (ArcGIS Hub, Web AppBuilder, and others)Implement Google Analytics for all Hub sites and configure dashboards in Google Data Studio Project SpecificMigrate Google Maps implementation to javascript APIAssist in production of the second generation of the Department Information SystemAssist in the production of an ArcGIS Hub site that highlights current Dept initiativesQualifications:5 years of demonstrated experience in front web development (javascript, html, css)Demonstrated experience working with the department javascript API 4.xExperience in working with wireframes, personas, and user storiesB.A.
or B.S. in a relevant field: geographic science, computer science, graphic design, or other relevant fieldStrong graphic design skillsProficient with visual design programs such as Adobe PhotoshopAbility to work effectively in a collaborative environment to create top-performing interfacesKnowledge of web readability accessibility standards, best practices, and validation toolsExperience working on multiple projects with time sensitive deadlinesGovernment experience is preferred but not requiredDesired Skills:Prior experience building map applicationsPrior experience configuring ArcGIS Hub/Open Data sitesKnowledge of and experience with ArcGIS OnlineUnderstands technical/GIS scenarios and requirementsMust be highly organized and comfortable multi-taskingMust be able to work independently, and collaboratively with team membersMust have good communication and customer service skills
