n Make an impact throughout the surgical patient journey as an Advanced Practice Provider within the Department of Surgery.n

n This APP serves as a key clinical member of the surgical team, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of surgical services. With a strong focus on ambulatory specialty care, this role provides the opportunity to independently manage post-operative and surveillance patients while developing expertise in complex wound and ostomy care.n

n Working closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary teams, the APP plays an important role in coordinating care, supporting patients throughout their surgical journey, and helping optimize outcomes across care settings.n

n What You’ll Don
n Provide Specialized Surgical Caren

n 1. Provide autonomous outpatient management for post-operative patients, surveillance populations, and patients requiring complex wound or ostomy care.n

n 2. Conduct histories and physical examinations, perform ongoing clinical assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide continued patient education and support.n

n Support Patients Throughout Their Caren

n 1. Provide education and longitudinal support to help patients navigate their ongoing surgical care.n

n Collaborate Across the Surgical Teamn

n 1. Partner closely with surgeons and interdisciplinary team members to optimize perioperative care and manage complex patient needs.n

n 2. Coordinate transitions across care settings and serve as an advocate for patients throughout their care journey.n

n Contribute Beyond the Clinicn

n 1. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, workflow development, and process improvement efforts.n

n 2. The role also provides opportunities to engage in research and professional development and contribute to the continued development of the specialty program.n

n We’re looking for a board-certified Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with surgical experience who is comfortable managing complex patients independently and interested in contributing to specialty program development.n

  • n Surgical experiencen
  • n 1 year of experience preferren n dn
  • n Ability to independently manage complex patientsn
  • n Interest in specialty program developmentn
