Geriatric Psychiatrist / Neuropsychiatrist

Northern Light Acadia Hospital is seeking a full-time Geriatric Psychiatrist or Neuropsychiatrist (MD/DO) to join their team in Bangor, Maine. This role involves expanding clinical, research, and educational programs with Northern Light Memory and Aging. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to an academically oriented outpatient program and collaborate with leading research institutions.

• Northern Light Memory and Aging is an academically orientated outpatient program.
• The program consists of three components: Mood and Memory Clinic, Robert C. Strauss Neurocognitive Research Program, and The Maine Rural Dementia Training Project.
• Northern Light Acadia Hospital is a regional, acute care psychiatric teaching hospital.
• The hospital is the hub of a comprehensive Behavioral Health service line within the Northern Light Health system.
• The hospital provides inpatient and outpatient behavioral healthcare for children, teens, and adults.
• The hospital specializes in the treatment of mental illness and substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Expand clinical, research, and educational programs with Northern Light Memory and Aging.
• Participate in teaching medical students, psychiatry residents, and family medicine residents.
• Engage in research collaborations with investigators at Massachusetts General Hospital, The Jackson Laboratory, and University of Maine.

Compensation

• $269,860-$292,947.20 annual base salary.

Requirements

• MD/DO.
• Fellowship training in behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry or geriatric psychiatry is preferred.
• A record of excellence in diagnosing and treating patients with Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders is preferred.
