Location: Atlanta, GA area | Schedule: Full-time, on-site/field-based | Compensation: Competitive base plus bonus potential

Overview

A leading heavy civil contractor with a strong Southeast presence and a deep backlog of infrastructure work is seeking a Geotechnical Superintendent to lead drilled shaft and deep foundation operations in the Atlanta area. This is an opportunity for an experienced geotechnical field leader to take on larger, well-resourced projects while running self‑perform crews across a range of specialty foundation work.

What you'll do

  • Run daily field operations on geotechnical and deep foundation projects
  • Lead drilled shaft, auger cast pile and earth retention crews
  • Keep safety the top priority, working with the safety department and project management
  • Plan means and methods for each geotechnical activity with the project team
  • Manage drill rigs, grout plants and shotcrete pumps, including proper use and maintenance
  • Update project schedules and track field productivity
  • Manage labor costs and keep the work on budget
  • Coordinate suppliers, subcontractors and self‑perform work
  • Run quality control and field documentation on the job
  • Keep project management updated on job status and take part in job start and job close meetings

Required qualifications

  • 10+ years of geotechnical construction experience across soldier piles, tiebacks, micropiles, drilled shafts, CFA auger cast piles, wick drains and soil nails or rock nails
  • Thorough understanding of drill rigs, grout plants and shotcrete pumps, their use and maintenance
  • Able to learn and apply geotechnical construction methods, specs and procedures
  • Proven ability to manage crews, cost and schedule in the field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Self‑motivated, able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willing to travel
  • Based in the Atlanta area, or ready to relocate

Preferred qualifications

  • Drill shaft superintendent experience is a plus
