Geotechnical Department ManagerAs a Geotechnical Department Manager, you strive to lead both your team and your profits. You get the "big" picture and want to contribute accordingly – and that's why you'll have all the opportunity for career growth within our company you'll want.ResponsibilitiesThe Geotechnical Senior Project Manager leads and oversees geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) projects from proposal through final delivery and closeout.

This role is fully accountable for project success, including technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution. The Geotechnical Senior Project Manager provides leadership to project teams, mentors staff, and actively contributes to business development and client relationship growth while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.Responsibilities:Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completionOversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports, including technical analysis and recommendationsEnsures all project tasks, from proposal to final invoice, are completed accurately and on timeManages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collectionsReviews field reports and ensures quality, accuracy, and completenessPrepares and oversees proposals and contractsServes as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholdersHosts and participates in project meetings to present findings and provide technical solutionsSupervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activitiesProvides technical oversight and verifies calculations and recommendationsMentors and develops junior staff, technicians, and project managersSupports staffing decisions and resource allocationPerforms other duties as assignedQualificationsRequired Qualifications:5 years of related experienceBachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is requiredA Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work, or you must have the ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire dateIf driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is requiredExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)Advanced project management and consulting skillsStrong business development and client relationship skillsExtensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and applicationsStrong working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standardsProficiency with geotechnical softwareStrong leadership and decision-making abilitiesAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environmentAbility to mentor and develop staffMilitary Qualifications:The following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education and licenses requirements from the above section titled "Required Qualifications":E-7
