We provide civil/site design and land surveying, environmental, geotechnical, construction administration & inspection, accident reconstruction, roofing/building envelope, A/V system design, troubleshooting & installation, transportation design (bridge/roadway), and specialized testing services to the construction industry.
nWe are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer (EIT or PE) who will play a key role in performing geotechnical explorations and investigations for our clients. You'll leverage your expertise and creative problem-solving skills while collaborating closely with institutions/municipal agencies, Architects, Engineers, Developers, and project teams to deliver customized geotechnical studies, reports, and solutions. From initial concept development to final execution, this role will guide projects through every stage of the land profile evaluation process, ensuring seamless integration and optimal results.

nHighlights:
nInteresting projects ranging from infrastructure, industrial, commercial, and "one-off"/unique engineering.
nProjects are located in north-central Kentucky/southern Indiana - generally within a 60-90 mile radius of the Shelbyville/east Louisville office.
nThis role will be at least 30-40% in the field, so some overnight travel (a couple of nights a month) is very normal/to be expected.
nA company vehicle can be provided or reimbursement for personal vehicle use.
nThis role will be based out of our Shelbyville (east Louisville) office.
nResponsibilities:
nPerforming geotechnical explorations, site characterizations, and risk evaluation on developments.
nTraining and supervision of lab technicians (based on experience), maintenance of quality reviews and certifications, management of equipment inventory and calibration, client marketing and proposal preparation.
nAbility to work independently on broad projects with oversight/supervision by the Service Line Manager.
nProviding direction on a project-to-project basis - i.e. preparing lab testing assignments, reviewing documents, and testing results for content and accuracy.
nPreparing geotechnical engineering reports.
nReviewing soils laboratory test results.
nAssisting in planning and the execution of subsurface investigation programs - including the understanding of project design plans, locating test borings at project sites, coordinating underground utility clearance.
nMonitoring and enforcing quality control standards and specifications.
nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
nStrong communication skills.
nAbility to read design drawings.
nAbility to meet schedules.
nExperience with common geotechnical software or be able to utilize software with minimal training.
nSelf-motivated, reliable, quality minded, and detail oriented.
nMinimum Qualifications:
n0-4+ years of experience in consulting engineering on various civil projects
nNew grads are encouraged to apply!
nEIT credentialing is a strong plus, but the ability to get EIT and PE is required (must have ABET accredited degree)
nEducation:
nBS Degree in Civil Engineering
nMaster's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Engineering Geology is a plus, but not required.
nPhysical Requirements:
nMust be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
nMust be willing to travel, and be physically able to maneuver on open terrain. .
