Texas-Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Geotechnics and Ground EngineeringWe are seeking a capable and motivated Texas-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in geotechnics and ground engineering to strengthen and expand the capabilities of our Underground Group in Texas and the wider United States.This is a client-facing, delivery-focused role supporting the design and construction of complex transportation, rail, water and energy infrastructure projects. You will contribute within multidisciplinary design-build teams, delivering practical, technically robust, and constructible geotechnical solutions across a wide range of ground conditions.You will combine hands-on technical delivery with project execution support, while engaging with Mott MacDonald's regional and global ground engineering network to share best practices and deliver consistent excellence across our projects.Key AccountabilitiesDesign and DeliveryPlan and manage geotechnical investigations, including fieldwork, laboratory testing, and data interpretationDevelop ground models, geotechnical parameters, and design assumptionsDeliver geotechnical analysis and design across all project stages, including preparation of calculations, reports and specifications.Identify and manage geotechnical risks to deliver safe, compliant, and constructible solutions.Coordinate geotechnical inputs within multidisciplinary design teams.Digital & InnovationLead structured management of geotechnical data and interpretive datasetsDevelop and maintain digital ground modelsImprove delivery efficiency through automation (e.g., scripts, templates, dashboards)Promote best practice in data governance and auditable workflows.Technical DevelopmentProvide technical guidance on complex geotechnical challengesContribute to proposals, bids, and work winning activities, including scope development, methodology, and technical review, as appropriate.Mentor junior engineers and support capability developmentContribute to continuous improvement and adoption of best practices across projectsCandidate ProfileEducation & QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)PE license in Texas (California PE or ability to obtain viewed favorably)5 - 10 years of geotechnical engineering experienceDemonstrated experience delivering geotechnical design on infrastructure projects in the U.S.Technical CapabilityFoundation design (shallow and deep)Settlement, consolidation, and ground deformation analysisSlope stability, seepage, and excavation support systemsGeotechnical investigation planning and laboratory data interpretationDigital & Software Skills.Experience with geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Rocscience, LPILE or similar)Familiarity with geotechnical data platforms (e.g., OpenGround, gINT) and 3D ground modelling software (Leapfrog Works)Interest in digital delivery and data-driven workflowsProfessional SkillsClear and concise technical writing and reportingAbility to coordinate and review multidisciplinary deliverablesEffective communication in client-facing environmentsProven ability to deliver high-quality work within schedule and budgetDesirableExperience in design-build project environmentsInterest in applying Python or similar tools to automate geotechnical workflows and data processingFamiliarity with integrating ground data platforms with analysis and reporting tools.You will work on high-profile infrastructure programs across Texas and the U.S. within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
