Seeking a full-time remote Geospatial Scientist, the successful candidate will manage the acquisition, processing, and quality assurance of digital elevation models (DEMs) while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity and accessibility. Key responsibilities Acquire and manage national and regional DEMs, ensuring proper tracking of provenance and licensing Process and clean DEMs to produce analysis-ready terrain surfaces through various techniques Design and maintain storage solutions for large raster and vector datasets, optimizing for downstream modeling Required qualifications Master's in geospatial science, geography, engineering, earth science, computer science, or a related field; or a Bachelor's plus 2 years of relevant experience Proficiency in Python for geospatial data processing and automation Experience with Rust or a demonstrated ability to work within a Rust codebase Familiarity with GIS and geospatial tools such as ArcGIS, QGIS, GDAL, or PDAL Strong understanding of coordinate reference systems and geospatial data QA/QC practices
