As a Geospatial Analyst/Software Developer, a typical day will include the following duties:JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Geospatial Analyst/Database developer will play a critical role in managing and analyzing geospatial data to support a mission-focused team. They will be responsible for supporting and maintaining an Oracle Spatial database, as well as leveraging ESRI GIS tools to provide insights and value to analysts. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who is comfortable working independently and is proactive in identifying opportunities to provide value to stakeholders.
This role offers the opportunity to directly support a high-priority mission and to make a meaningful impact on the successes of the team.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage and administer an Oracle Spatial database, including tables, procedures, and views, as well as performing other database administration tasksDevelop and execute spatial queries to support analyst requests to drive business outcomesUtilize scripting languages (e.g. Python, SQL, etc.) to parse and process files of various formats including but not limited to: CSV, JSON and XML.Leverage ESRI GIS tool suite (e.g. ArchGIS, ArchMap, etc.) to analyze and visualize geospatial dataCollaborate with analysts to understand their geospatial data needs and develop solutions to meet those needsProactively identify opportunities to provide value to analysts based on available geospatial datasets and develop solutions to meet those needsWork independently with minimal supervision, requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyApply Data Science techniques to leverage information between data collections, including but not limited to:Creating data visualizations and reports to communicate insights to stakeholdersDeveloping data fusion and integration strategies to combine data from multiple sourcesPerform other related duties as assignedEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experienceREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience working with Oracle spatial, including creating views, optimizing SQL queries, and some administration dutiesProficiency in scripting languages, such as Python, SQL or similarExperience with ESRI GIS tool suite, including ArcGIS and ArchCatalogStrong understanding of geospatial data concepts and spatial analysis techniquesAbility to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environmentDESIRED QUALIFICATIONSProactive and self-motivated individual with a strong desire to provide value to stakeholdersExperience supporting a primary IC customer in an operational environmentStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think creativelyExperience working with a wide variety of data formats and sourcesStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with analysts and other stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing prioritiesA candidate must be a US Citizen and requires an active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.Equal Opportunity Employer / Individuals with Disabilities / Protected Veterans
