Geographic Information Systems Analyst : CenterPoint Energy

GIS AnalystOur client is located in Downtown Houston and looking to add a GIS Analyst to their team on a 6+ month contract basis. This role promotes GIS accuracy and consistency as it relates to enterprise policies, procedures, and standards.Job Responsibilities:Reference and gain an understanding of department GIS Digitizing Standards.Perform the workflow of retrieving relevant facility documentation and reviewing GIS digitizing for accuracy.Utilize GIS digitizing standards, facility documentation, and the GIS environment to evaluate database accuracy and health.Transpose complex data from records maps, CAD drawings, land base maps, demographic models and economic resources and other source documents into GIS related databaseAssist and collaborate with team members to communicate issues or necessary feedback relevant to improving accuracy and problem identification.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in GIS, geography, computer science or a related field is a plus.0-2 year's experience required.Experience with GIS software such as ESRI, AutoDesk, Bentley, Integraph, etcStrong understanding of geographic conceptsExperience with Microsoft Office.Proficiency in computer systems, applications, and database software.
